Jerome C. Berrigan was born in 1919, the son of Thomas Berrigan and Frida Fomherz (also spelled Fromhart), the fourth of their six children. He married Carol Rizzo in 1955 and was a professor of English at Onandaga Community College in Syracuse, NY for over 30 years.
